An exhibition by Swedish Girls in collaboration with Cucina Alchemia, part for Passionswege, Vienna Design Week 2025.

Swedish Girls investigate icebreakers as both social tools and material conditions. Together with Cucina Alchemia, the kitchen is transformed into an experimental setting where food, words and materials act as catalysts for exchange.

Following Cucina Alchimia’s practice of honoring every part of an ingredient, Swedish Girls transformed a single sheet of stainless steel, both its cutouts and remnants, into a series of works. Activated through specially composed dishes and drinks, the installation invites visitors into intimate rituals to break the ice.

Passionswege is a format that introduces international and Austrian designers together with Vienna’s craft-based businesses. Their dialogue takes place away from the commercial pressure of normal working relationships and enables the curated pairs of artisans and designers to focus on the passion in their work: they experiment, share knowledge and create an installation in the workshop that expresses this joint process.
